HubSpot - SEO Case Study

HubSpot SEO Performance - A Review

In terms of website design, there are several components. In order for the website to be effective, it must…

  • Be visually appealing (current design / layout / appropriate colors)

  • Have a compelling message relevant to the target market formatted in a way that the search engines like

  • Be easy to navigate so that this information can be found by the visitor

  • Be fast (no one likes a slow website)
SEO
These things make a potential visitor like your website more and hopefully convert into contacting you. However, to be found, the search engines must like the website as well. There are certain search engine optimization techniques to implement (both on-page and off-page) to make the search engines like you also. For us these on-page techniques include the following:

  • Page specific Titles / Descriptions / Content / Keyword tags / Permalinks (page name url) written within seo standards of length / duplication and with certain target market (not search engine) relevant keywords in mind and without keyword stuffing.
  • Addition of robots.txt file
  • Addition of .htaccess file (used for page speed, 301 redirects (avoid duplicate content) & 404 (page not found) redirects
  • Addition to canonical tags to avoid duplicate content
  • Addition of xml sitemap for submission to search engines
  • Confirmation of no broken links (internal or external)
  • Image Optimization (name, alt text, size) via Kraken or Tiny Png
  • Implementation of gzip compression for page speed via server size settings if possible
  • Implementation of code for Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools Verification.
  • Ensuring the website is connected to social media via FB OG Tags and / or Google Plus tags with links to profiles.
  • Ensuring the website is mobile friendly and renders correctly in all major browsers including mobile browsers (apple and android), IE8-Edge, Chrome, Firefox & Safari.
  • Unless handwritten, code is subject to how the tool generates it.
We employ these techniques to the best of our ability considering the tool used to build this website.

Even though properly optimizing a Weebly site can be very difficult, it comes with certain apps & plugins (free & paid) to help. Titles, Descriptions, Keywords, H1/H2 tags, canonical / schema tags, xml sitemaps, robots.txt / .htaccess files, Google Webmaster Tools / Google Analytics verification are all managed internally. Image file compression is managed externally. The results are below:
